Stage North Theatre Society Press Release (2018)

The Stage North Theatre Society has been serving the Peace River Region with theatre entertainment for decades. The Fort St. John based organization hosts many workshops and shows each year. In this catalogue is a press release for their upcoming plays in 2018 which includes “Mary’s Wedding,” “Blackbird,” and “Always Patsy Cline.”

Fort St. John Community Arts Council Events (2013-2019) and Peace Liard Regional Arts Council Planning Document (2014)

The Fort St. John Community Arts Council has organized many events and fundraisers throughout the years. This file is a compilation of publications for some of these events from 2013-2019. This includes events like the Flower Pot Project, the Banner project, and the Reuse, Recycle, Rejoice fundraiser. The catalogue also includes a planning document by the Peace Liard Regional Arts Council in preparation for the 75th Anniversary of the Alaska Highway.

Bright Nights in June Letters (2015)

Bright Nights in June is an annual fundraiser in Fort St. John. It celebrates both the North Peace Cultural Centre and the arts in the community. The celebration often spans multiple days and involves performances, activities, a gala, and more, all located in the downtown area of the city. This catalogue contains letters of invitation from 2015 to sponsor the event.

BC Festival of the Arts: Photos (2001)

Attached are some photos from the 2001 BC Festival of Arts. 2001 was the first time Fort St. John hosted this event and it was very exciting for the community. These photos show performers on stage at the North Peace Cultural Centre.

A Recipe In A Garden Pot: Fort St. John Community Arts Council (2015)

A Recipe In A Garden Pot is a fundraising event for the Fort St. John Community Arts Council. It invites artists to purchase a pot and decorate it with gardening related paintings, then plant herbs, spices, and/or vegetables afterwards. The funds earned to towards the Arts Council to support the organization and its programs. This file has draft publications containing more information on the 2015 fundraiser.

BC Festival of the Arts: Posters and Magazines (2001)

Attached are magazines and posters related to the BC Festival of Arts that was held in 2001. 2001 was the first time Fort St. John hosted this event and it was very exciting for the community. The posters and magazine give information about what was offered at the BC Festival of the Arts in Fort St. John. Sue Popesku served on the Board of Directors for 2001.

Sand Sensations Publications (2014-2016)

The Fort St. John Community Arts Council organizes many of the local arts and heritage events, including Sand Sensations. Sand Sensations was an annual sand sculpting event that brought together international sand carvers to B.C.’s Peace River Region. This catalogue contains press releases and a letter from the Arts Council detailing the events and changes to it from 2015 – 2016. While plans to continue for 2017 were made, this did not end up being carried out.

Fort St. John Community Arts Council: Become an Arts Patron (2015)

The Fort St. John Community Arts Council organizes multiple events, programs, and projects each year. Such events are made possible with the help of their patrons. This file is an invitation to contribute to the Arts Council by becoming an Arts Patron. The document also includes a list of new programs for 2015 such as Artwalk, the Banner Project, and Bright Nights in June.

BC Festival of the Arts: News Letters and Articles (2001)

Attached are two different news letters related to the BC Festival of Arts that was held in 2001. 2001 was the first time Fort St. John hosted this event and it was very exciting for the community. One newsletter is from Winter 2000 and the other is from March 2001. The news paper articles are about the planning and days leading up to the festival and also includes an opinion piece citing concerns over the costs of the festival.

Stage North Responsibilities and Calendar (2018)

The Stage North Theatre Society provides theatre entertainment for the entirety of the Peace River Region. This takes form in staging multiple productions each year, workshops, and their involvement in festivals. This document is a checklist of responsibilities and a calendar for Stage North’s 2018 season.

BC Festival of the Arts: Opening Ceremonies (2001)

Attached is promotional material related to the opening of the BC Festival of Arts that was held in 2001. 2001 was the first time Fort St. John had held this event and it was very exciting for the community. The Launching of B.C. Festival of the Arts happened on October 14, 2000 but the Official Opening Ceremonies didn’t happen until February 7, 2001.

Celebrating 40 Years of Stage North (2017)

Beginning in 1977, initially as part of Northern Lights College Performing Arts Department, the Stage North Theatre Society has become a successful theatre company for the Peace River Region. This catalogue is a letter from Fort St. John Mayor, Lori Ackerman, congratulating them for 40 years of service and performances in the community.

Staging a Performance with Stage North (2009)

Stage North Theatre Society is a Fort St. John-based theatre company that provides the Peace River Region with entertainment and learning opportunities for those interested in the performing arts. They put on many productions, each requiring its own preparation and planning. This catalogue contains the details on what goes into staging a production. This includes the tasks of the producer, costume committee, and publicity planning.
