Alaska Highway Heritage Project (2014)

The role the Alaska Highway was said to have shaped the region. The Alaska Highway Community Society in B.C. and the Alaska Highway Heritage Society in Yukon joined forces to make sure the Alaska Highway is recognized as one of North America’s largest historical routes.

There were two parts to this project:

  1. Nominate the Alaska Highway Corridor as a National Historic Site of Canada.
  2. Develop a strategy for regional heritage to promote history and heritage of the Alaska Highway.
